6 credit CEU talk on “Scientific Views of Gender and Transgender Identity’ for UW-Continuing Studies on Wed. Oct 23

Hello Members!

Please see the information below from Dr. Maureen Rickman of Psychiatric Services in Madison. She would like to invite all of us to attend her event on gender and transgender identity. I hope you will all consider attending what is likely to be an interesting educational event. A link is provided under the informational copy for registration.

“Gender identity doesn’t always match biological sex. Yet decades of gender studies show that men and women just aren’t that different (except when it comes to reproduction). We will discuss a bio-psycho-social model that accounts for the critical role of self-selection in determining gender identity and provide comprehensible explanations of sex-related endophenotypes, stage-based psychosexual development, and the evolution of gender roles in society. Participate in case examples about the treatment of gender nonconforming children and adults.”

Here is the link if you’re interested in attending.

I hope to see you there!
